A combination concert performance and staged reading of 'The Frogs' by Stephen Sondheim, based on the Aristophanes play and adapted by Burt Shevelove and Nathan Lane, featured high comedy and wonderful rarely-heard music.

A spirited concert staging at Carnegie Hall featured Christine Ebersole, David Garrison, and Shereen Ahmed with the MasterVoices chorus and orchestra.

The soloists shone both separately and in concert, as if distilling the work of the huge chorus behind them. I didn't want the penultimate piece, "O Sleep," sung by the chorus and then the soloists in counterpoint, to end.
