Daron Malakian of System of a Down is in the process of putting together a new band called Scars on Broadway. System of a Down has said that they will take a break after they are finished touring with Ozzfest this summer. Malakian is still in the process of recruiting band members but says that he already has a percussionist and that System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian is likely to join the project. He hopes that Scars of Broadway will have a debut album out next summer.
Snow Patrol has announced that it will be pulling out of tour dates in North America. This is due to ongoing problems with singer Gary Lightbody’s voice. A visit to the doctor has resulted in Lightbody being told not to sing until July. Snow Patrol was touring in support of Eyes Open. They have rescheduled the tour for Septemer.
Robert Scoble, a Microsoft blogger has handed in his letter of resignation to Microsoft and will soon be joining a silicon valley Video Blogging company called PodTech.net. Scoble in his blogs often publicly criticized Microsoft. When asked why he thought the company didn’t mind his criticism he noted that Bill Gates likes arguing about ideas. Scoble was a "technical evangelist" for Channel 9, a website created to foster ties between Microsoft and other software developers.
