Study Warns of Internet Addiction and The Daily Music and Tech News

Study Warns of Internet Addiction

A nationwide study done by Stanford University suggests that for some internet overuse has some of the same properties as addiction. The study involved a random survey of 2,500 adults and found that 6-14% of the respondents neglected work, school sleep and other things in order to use the internet. Although, more research will need to be done in order to determine if the internet addiction is its own affliction or is something an expression of other disorders.

Tupac to Release New Album

Tupac is set to release is 8th posthumous album. Pac’s Life is due out on November 21st. The album was executive produced by Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur. Pac’s Life will be comprised mostly of previously-unreleased material and will include contributions for Snoop Dogg, T.I, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony among others.

Womad Music Festival to Relocate

The Womad Music Festival, a world music festival co-founded by Peter Gabriel, is set to relocate after 17 years. The festival which has previously been held in Reading will take place at Wiltshire Stately home, Charleton Park next year. The dates are set for July 27th-29th. It is reported that the event is moving because the previous site was now too small.
