It's a showdown in Storybrooke between Wicked and Evil on the next 'Once Upon a Time.' Who will prevail? Stay tuned!

Storybrooke Showdown on the Next ‘Once Upon a Time’

With Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) now Zelena’s (Rebecca Mader) slave, controlled by his own dagger, the Wicked Witch savors a showdown with her younger sister Regina (Lana Parrilla) on the next Once Upon a Time episode, “It’s Not Easy Being Green.” Of course Zelena is green, no doubt resulting from her envy of Regina, and we are sure to learn more about her grievances–and how she plans to use the grieving Rumple to further her agenda.

But at the same time, we will also go to the Land of Oz, where we will begin to understand the Wicked Witch’s back story. As we all know, the Wicked Witch of the West in the Oz story also had a sister: The Wicked Witch of the East. The house dropped upon her, the Wicked Witch of the West coveted her sister’s ruby (or silver) slippers. But she’d been too late as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North placed them firmly for safekeeping on Dorothy’s feet.

So who holds Storybrooke’s ruby slippers? And what is Zelena’s relationship to Rumple? We know that Zelena is envious of Regina when she learns that Rumple has rejected her in favor of her younger sister. But now that Rumple is under her control, in what direction might that relationship turn?

Of course everything that happens in Sunday night’s Storybrooke showdown is under the shadow of Neal’s death and burial. Tune in Sunday to find out how it all plays out. In the meantime, have a peek at some images from next week’s episode. And have a listen to tonight’s Let’s Talk TV Live podcast. The Once Upon a Time panel, including Blogcritics writers JeromeWetzelTV and RHeart Chrissy, begins at the 45-minute mark.

Once Upon a Time airs Sunday nights on ABC.
