I became a Yankee fan in the dark days of the franchise -- the late 80s and early 90s -- due mostly to my admiration for "Donny Baseball" Don Mattingly. Inspired by a love of baseball's history, I engrossed myself in tales of glories past through those lean years, cheering on Mattingly while endlessly reading about the championship Yankees teams of the former decades.
Now, having lived through a Yankee dynasty of my own, and having enjoyed watch them perennially contend to this day, The Pinstripe Report attempts to relate the totality of the Yankees lineage in a fresh way, pertinent to the accomplishments, issues, and outcomes that each Yankees team will annually face.
From the modern state of the team, profiles and evaluations off modern players, and historical perspective on the greatest franchise in baseball history, the Pinstripe Report forms a collage of all things Yankees. The Report strives to connect -- in an entertaining and relevant fashion -- the team's massively rich history, its highly successful present, and its potential filled future, to create a complete prospectus for Yankees fans and baseball fans alike.
