Oh, I'm well aware that the Detroit Lions colors are silver and black. But silver is a global symbol for second place, the kind of finish that Lions fans and teams dream for. Second place would be great! That means you reached the Super Bowl!
But, alas, the only time the Super Bowl comes to town is when they host it, while other able-minded teams play in it. With the coaching tutelage of Mariucci, Morningwheg, and Marinelli, coupled with the travails of quarterbacks from Harrington to Hipple, the only time the Lions get to regularly finish first or second is in the NFL Draft.
I would hesitate to call myself a Lions fan, but nevertheless they are the team in my backyard. So they're the ones who get the attention in Gray Pride Parade. They're here. They're last. We're used to it.
