The best drama of the evening and the Series could be found from two entertainment moguls exeunt stage east: Alex Rodriguez and Scott Boras. Boras miraculously found Ken Rosenthal's phone number at Coors Field in the Denver White Pages and announced Alex Rodriguez would opt out of his Rangers née Yankees contract just in time for the news to be announced on national television before the World Series came to its unceremonious end. Even in a 4-1 contest, Joe Buck could not resist the Exclusive Fox Report and abandoned the game to talk next year for the rest of the half-inning. Fox even cut to a grinning John Henry on his iPhone, racking up a high score on Bejeweled or getting an email about Ken's Exclusive Fox Report.
Because Rodriguez's loss will deal a crippling blow to the 2008 Yankees, casual baseball fans better hope Alex Rodriguez ends up with the Angels or (if necessary) the Cubs; any other move by Boras will leave the 2008 postseason to be another lifeless sequel to this one, with the Red Sox crushing all before them and leaving Fox free to start their fall season early again.
Expect to see the midseason replacement series "Where's Alex?" to dominate the fall schedule at ESPN and Fox Sports as long as the usual baseball fare is off for the winter and for its producer, Scott Boras, and its leading man to make a fortune off the residuals.
Congratulations to the 2007 World Champion Boston Red Sox. See you next season, true believers.

Jonathan Papelbon does not wear a "C" on his chest, Jason Varitek does. . Also, Boras' information regarding A-Rod had been posted minutes earlier on other outlets, forcing FOX to react. Would have been funny if it were in fact true. Also, John Henry was NOT reacting to the story, he was simply enjoying the moment. Get your facts straight.
