What Ordinary People are Saying - Armstrong Doping Allegations

What ordinary people are saying about French accusations that Lance Armstrong cheated in his first Tour de France championship in 1999:

Apparently six urine samples taken at the time tested positive for the red blood cell-booster erythropoietin, or EPO. Armstrong responded "Unfortunately, the witch hunt continues and tomorrow's article is nothing short of tabloid journalism. I will simply restate what I have said many times: I have never taken performance-enhancing drugs."

"This would only be newsworthy if some French sports newspaper claimed that Lance Armstrong had not cheated!".....htom at Little Green Footballs

"They have been out to get him in France for a number of years....It's all very strange and I don't know to what extent it is legal to keep specimens like this.".....Five-time Tour de France winner Miguel Indurain, Reuters

"Hey - he rode with Bush after rumors of him entering politics and got this crap the week after - coincidence?".....karmic_inquisitor at Little Green Footballs

"Funny that the French feel compelled to publicize how they 'think' Lance Armstrong won a bicycle race 8 years ago, but refuse to divulge to the world Arafat's cause of death (on the basis that it is a violation of his privacy.)".....mich-again at Little Green Footballs

"I think it is just the French getting pissy about an American dominating their sport. Obviously they are superior to us so how can one of ours win seven years in a row? Unless he is cheating. What is next? Should we cryogenically freeze his body when he dies so we can test him again should new testing methods be discovered?".....Mike at Blogs for Bush

"Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.".....Lance Armstrong from Red State Moron

Ordinary Joe says "wasn't it the French who tried to screw the Canadian Pairs figure skaters (Sale and Pelletier) out of the Gold Medal at the Salt Lake City Olympics a few years back? Enough said.

Please do use this episode as another French bashing contest. There are enough stories on France and the french people!
A sporitng newspaper "l'equipe" is trying to exploit a lab test just like any other newspaper would around the world.
French people never killed any American soldier in any armed conflict in history! Yet France, is systematically villified by the American press? I travel to the USA very often and it is better to say I am german citizen when going to restaurants.
I assume it is also better to be japanese although I cannot try.
Americans have a very strange sense of memory and love French bashing!
It is true some french people are arrogant and self centered but just like an old girl friend they do not intend to arm American they simply speak their mind with a big and silly voice and say openly what other think secretly.
USA and France is like an old couple and nobody unfortunately will let anything unanswered when anyy difference of opinion arises
