This will be a closer game for South Florida, but I would still put my money on them to pul out a victory and possibly continue to creep up the rankings.
Prediction: USF 35, UCF 17
- 20th ranked Wake Forest posted an impressive season-opening victory to the tune of 41-13, though as our man Ben Miraski would say, it was Baylor. Even so, Senior QB Riley Skinner looked solid, going 27 of 36 for 220 yards and three scores. THe defense held its own, with Baylor scoring a fourth quarter touchdown to make the score look a little prettier than it really was.
Mississippi made Houston Nutt look good in his first game on a different SEC staff, and Nutt may have found the same one-two punch his offense had at Arkansas. Running back Dexter McCluster finished with 125 total yards on only six carries and four receptions, while "backup" running back Brandon Bolden added another 76 yards and a score on only eight carries and a 37 yard pass completion to quarterback Jevan Snead.
It would appear as though Nutt has the talent to be up to his same old tricks all over again. We won't know for sure until the SEC schedule kicks in, but it will probably be enough for this week.
Prediction: Ole Miss 35, Wake Forest 31
