Auburn led 31-17 at the half, but the Kentucky Wildcats stormed back in the third quarter behind the play of do-everything player Randall Cobb. Auburn's defense finally stiffened and Newton worked his magic to give the Tigers their first 6-0 start since 2004.
Auburn faces Arkansas at home next. Kentucky takes on South Carolina.
Georgia Finally Shows Up, Stomps Tennessee
It was never close. There was never any doubt. Georgia finally showed how talented they are and how good they could be when they put it all together by obliterating the Volunteers 41-17.
Georgia QB Aaron Murray threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more as the offense clicked like a well-oiled machine. The Bulldogs defense smothered Tennessee all day, holding the Vols to a mere nine yards rushing.
Georgia takes on Vanderbilt next. Tennessee has a bye week.
And finally...
Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State were all victorious over out of conference opponents (Texas A & M, Eastern Michigan, and Houston, respectively).
Arkansas prepares to play Auburn this week in a big SEC West game. Vanderbilt takes on Georgia. Mississippi State prepares to face Florida.
