RJ's NFL Picks - Week Six - Page 3

Part of: NFL Picks

RJ's Pick: Denver by 11

Dallas 4-1 at Arizona 3-2 - 4:15 PM (Line: Dallas by 5)

These are the two highest-scoring teams in the NFC. (Bet the over!) The Cardinals don't have much of a running game, but are undefeated at home. The Cowboys (who are 4-1, and yet find themselves in third place in the NFC East) are undefeated on the road. This is a difficult game to predict, but it's always fun to root against Dallas, so I guess I'll go with the Cards.

RJ's Pick: Arizona by 1

Philadelphia 2-3 at San Francisco 2-3 - 4:15 PM (Line: Philadelphia by 5)

The Eagles have dropped two straight, and are winless on the road. Brian Westbrook has two broken ribs and is expected to miss a few games. The 49ers have also lost two in a row. J. T. O'Sullivan hasn't looked all that impressive since Week Three (against the Lions, naturally). Statistically, Philly is the far better team on both sides of the ball, so I shall pick them.

RJ's Pick: Philadelphia by 9

Green Bay 2-3 at Seattle 1-3 - 4:15 PM (Line: Seattle by 2)

The Packers have lost three in a row. Their defense is pretty bad, and RB Ryan Grant has been a disappointment so far. The Seahawks got thrashed last week by the Giants. RB Julius Jones has been pretty much the lone bright spot on this team. I'll take the road 'dog in this one.

RJ's Pick: Green Bay by 2

New England 3-1 at San Diego 2-3 - 8:15 PM (Line: San Diego by 6)

Offensively, the Patriots are below-average in almost all statistical categories. Their defense is pretty good overall, but they have a tendency to give up a lot of rushing yards. Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson, who isn't having a very good season up to this point, will look to take advantage of that. Defensively, the Bolts are last in the league against the pass, but can Matt Cassel take advantage of that? It's difficult to predict this game, especially given the intense rivalry between these two teams. I guess I'll go with the upset.

Hey guys! Sorry it's so late for me to get my research to y'all ... I'm moving tomorrow (yup, on a football day which sucks!). Anyhoo, here are the breakdowns. Overall, the season record for going with the "winning team" from the "expert" picks is 52! One better than any individual. So the winning teams out of 77 "experts" this week are:
    Was 76-1
    Ind 60-17
    Hou 46-31
    Min 75-2
    NO 72-5
    NYJ 72-5
    Chi 55-22
    Car 52-25
    Den 59-18
    Dal 58-19
    Phi 65-12
    GB 52-25
    SD 55-22
    NYG 69-7

For "experts" with a record of 48+
    Was 18-0
    Ind 16-2
    Hou 11-7
    Min 18-0
    NO 18-0
    NYJ 17-1
    Chi 14-4
    Car 13-5
    Den 12-6
    Dal 13-5
    Phi 17-1
    GB 11-7
    SD 13-5
    NYG 16-2

    For "experts" with 50 & 51 records:
    Was 8-0
    Ind 6-2
    Hou 4-4
    Min 8-0
    NO 8-0
    NYJ 8-0
    Chi 5-3
    Car 6-2
    Den 6-2
    Dal 5-3
    Phi 7-1
    GB 5-3
    SD 6-2
    NYG 6-2

Average for the monday night score is: 44

    Good luck!

Oh boy, lets see if I can bounce back this week. After a 6-8 thrashing for my picks, and a 44-6 thrashing for my Seahawks, and my Ducks got thrashed by the Trojans... Just a bad week last week. I'll be 46-28 going into week 6.

    Lets see here...

    1. I'm going for the Ravens over the Colts, but t will be a toss up anyway IMO.
    2. Vikings all the way over a sorry sorry sorry Lions.
    3. The Saints will redeem themselves over the Raiders, and the fans wil cheer so hard that they will forget it is the Raiders under the helm of a brand new coach.
    4. Jets will have another high scoring game, although this one might be a little more one sided than their victory over the hyped up Cards.
    5. Atlanta will rally for a win over the Bears.
    6. Panther will win a tough one over the Bucs.
    7. St. Louis, poor St. Louis... I actually feel bad for a division rival, which is sad. Redskins are hot right now and will make the poor Rams sorry they even showed up. Look at the upside though, at least they will have good draft placement next year.
    8. I'm thinking the Fins can beat the Texans in their own house, call me crazy but...
    9. Go Denver, go Jay Cutler, go another fantasy win for all my teams who have him! (PS I am predicting a win for the Bronco's)
    10. I think the 49ers will win over the Eagles. I don't even think this one will be close.
    11. The Seahawks are primed and ready to explode, at least I hope because all my friends are making fun of me for backing a loosing team right now.
    12. It is strange but I am actually hoping the Cowboys win, I guess it goes along the lines of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", and right now my enemy (slighty over dramatic) is the Cards.
    13. I think the Bolts will break even this week at 3-3 with a victory over the Pats.
    14. Yeah, the Gaints are on fire and I'm not exactly going out on a limb by predicting them the victors this monday.
