RJ's NFL Picks - Week Four

Part of: NFL Picks

Bad news: I was an embarrassing 6-8 with my picks last week. Good news: I'm 28-18 for the season, which is still (arguably) better than Theismann.

I promise** to do better with my picks for the NFL's Week 4:

Sunday, Oct. 1

Arizona 1-2 at Atlanta 2-1 - 1:00 p.m.

If Arizona had a decent defense, I'd pick them. But they don't. If Arizona had a QB who wasn't prone to making crucial mistakes, I'd pick them. But they don't.

ATLANTA BY 7

Dallas 1-1 at Tennessee 0-3 - 1:00 p.m.

Kerry Collins sucks, and so does Tennessee's defense.

DALLAS BY 10

Indianapolis 3-0 at N.Y. Jets 2-1 - 1:00 p.m.

Peyton Manning could easily throw four TDs in this one... in the first half.

INDY BY 24

Miami 1-2 at Houston 0-3 - 1:00 p.m.

The Dolphins will win their first (only?) road game of the season.

MIAMI BY 4

Minnesota 2-1 at Buffalo 1-2 - 1:00 p.m.

The Vikings impressed me last week, by playing the Bears close. But they'll lose another close one here.

BILLS BY 2

New Orleans 3-0 at Carolina 1-2 - 1:00 p.m.

The Saints are better than I thought. Reggie Bush looks very promising. But they won't win this divisional matchup on the road.

CAROLINA BY 6

San Diego 2-0 at Baltimore 3-0 - 1:00 p.m.

Early pick: San Diego represents the AFC in Super Bowl XLI.

SAN DIEGO BY 3

San Francisco 1-2 at Kansas City 0-2 - 1:00 p.m.

49ers QB Alex Smith is looking pretty good so far. And KC looks pretty bad.

SAN FRAN BY 1

Detroit 0-3 at St. Louis 2-1 - 4:05 p.m.

I always pick the Lions to win until about Week 13, when they are officially eliminated from playoff contention. Also, the Rams aren't very good, current (winning) record notwithstanding.

RJ enjoy your column and comments. With regards to being ahead of Joe Theisman in correct picks -unfortunately for you, Joe has made 3 less picks than you, since he doesn't pick any Monday nights, so you unfortundtaely do NOT have these bragging rights!!!

I think you're off the mark on four of them! Then again, I have no idea what I'm talking about since I don't follow it like I used to. Grandkid watches Spongebob 24-7. Papa's SOL.

Arizona 1-2 at Atlanta 2-1... I don't like Atlanta, but I don't see them losing a game against a mediocre team at home. Especially after a big loss Monday night.

Dallas 1-1 at Tennessee 0-3... Dallas.

    Indianapolis 3-0 at N.Y. Jets 2-1... Indy.

Miami 1-2 at Houston 0-3... Miami

Minnesota 2-1 at Buffalo 1-2... Minnesota.

New Orleans 3-0 at Carolina 1-2... Carolina

San Diego 2-0 at Baltimore 3-0... I don't like Baltimore and they haven't convinced me they can win. San Diego.

San Francisco 1-2 at Kansas City 0-2... I was very impressed with what San Francisco did last week, despite the loss. I love their quarterback, and i love Michael Robinson. They will be better this year than people expected. They will also improve week as the year goes on. San Fran.

Detroit 0-3 at St. Louis 2-1... St. Louis

Cleveland 0-3 at Oakland 0-2... Oh, I don't know. Pick your poison. Either team is as likely to lose. My dad is from Cleveland, so I'll go with the Browns.

Jacksonville 2-1 at Washington 1-2... Jacksonville

New England 2-1 at Cincinnati 3-0... Cincinnati

Seattle 3-0 at Chicago 3-0... Last I heard, Alexandar got healed by the power of prayer. Whether a doctor upholds that I don't know, but we may see him on the field after all. But I still pick Chicago because I am in love with them.

Green Bay 1-2 at Philadelphia 2-1... Philadelphia... because they are obviously better.

Indy by 24? I don't think it'll be that big of a blow-out. I am so happy because next week I have tickets to the Steeler/San Diego game. Here we go Steelers!
