RJ's NFL Picks, 2012 Edition: Week Thirteen

Part of: NFL Picks

I went 10-6 last week straight up, and 12-3-1 against the spread. For the season, that puts me at 113-63 straight up and 85-84-7 against the spread. For a comparison, check out the "experts" over at ESPN.com.

What follows are my picks for the NFL's Week 13:

*Thursday, November 29*

New Orleans 5-6 at Atlanta 10-1 - 8:20 p.m. (Line: ATLANTA by 3.5)

The Falcons are 5-0 at home while the Saints are 2-3 on the road.

---RJ's Pick: Falcons by 1

*Sunday, December 2*

Indianapolis 7-4 at Detroit 4-7 - 1:00 p.m. (Line: DETROIT by 4.5)

The outcome of this game doesn't really matter much to me, as a Lions fan. They ain't making the playoffs this year. But I am interested to see how many times Ndamukong Suh "accidentally" kicks Colts QB Andrew Luck in the nuts.

---RJ's Pick: Lions by 8

Jacksonville 2-9 at Buffalo 4-7 - 1:00 p.m. (Line: BUFFALO by 6)

A crappy warm weather team going to play in a cold weather city in December = The Jaguars are gonna have a bad time.

---RJ's Pick: Bills by 11

Seattle 6-5 at Chicago 8-3 - 1:00 p.m. (Line: CHICAGO by 3.5)

The Bears are 5-1 at home while the Seahawks are 1-5 on the road.

---RJ's Pick: Bears by 9

San Francisco 8-2-1 at St. Louis 4-6-1 - 1:00 p.m. (Line: SAN FRANCISCO by 7)

The last time the 49ers and Rams played, back in Week Ten, they tied. I don't think that's going to happen again.

---RJ's Pick: 49ers by 14

New England 8-3 at Miami 5-6 - 1:00 p.m. (Line: NEW ENGLAND by 7)

The Patriots have won five in a row. Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill has 12 interceptions this season (including six in the last three games) compared to just seven TD passes.

---RJ's Pick: Patriots by 18

Arizona 4-7 at New York Jets 4-7 - 1:00 p.m. (Line: NEW YORK JETS by 4)

The Cardinals have dropped seven straight. The Jets have lost four of their last five.

---RJ's Pick: Jets by 10

Minnesota 6-5 at Green Bay 7-4 - 1:00 p.m. (Line: GREEN BAY by 7.5)

Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is averaging 5.8 yards per carry this season, and leads the league is rushing yards with 1,236. The Packers are 4-1 at home.

Considering you always pick Detroit whether you think they'll lose or not, your pick percentage is actually much higher.

The Texans game might be closer...defensive backfield is totally changed, and Kubiak is resting folks for next week.

Last week I went 13-3 straight up and am 117-59 for the season. This week's picks:

    Falcons over Saints
    Bears over Seahawks
    Texans over Titans
    Patriots over Dolphins
    Bills over Jaguars
    Colts over Lions
    Panthers over Chiefs
    Packers over Vikings
    49ers over Rams
    Jets over Cardinals
    Broncos over Buccaneers
    Ravens over Steelers
    Bengals over Chargers
    Raiders over Browns
    Cowboys over Eagles
    Redskins over Giants

Weak choices - Panthers to win, Browns to lose and Giants to lose. I'm hoping the Buccaneers actually beat the Broncos, but that's not likely to happen in Denver. Colts against your Lions might be interesting, also. That's why we watch the games...

    Good luck!
