Valencia - Athletic de Bilbao 1-1
Valencia were taken by surprise by Athletic’s resilience. Valencia could have decided the match in the first half but they were stuck on the 1-0 lead scored by Fernando Morientes.
Athletic profited from Valencia’s inability to score another goal and equalised in the final phase of the match. Fernando Llorente scored the 1-1 with a header and made Athletic the first team to take away points of Valencia in a home match.
Atletico Madrid - Villareal 3-1
Atletico cruised past Villareal on the league table of the Primera Division by winning 3-1. Villareal took an early lead when Fabricio Fuentes headed in a free-kick taken by Juan Riquelme.
But after that Atletico quickly came to business and Ze Castro scored the equaliser. Fernando Torres scored the 2-1 before halftime and Sergio Aguero scored the 3-1 in the second half.
Real Madrid - Osasuna 4-1
Real Madrid has convincingly won versus Osasuna with 4-1. The only name showing up on the scoreboard was Ruud van Nistelrooy. Van the Man scored all four goals for Los Galácticos.
During the 90 minutes of the match van Nistelrooy played dangerously close to offside and it paid off since Osasuna wasn’t defending very well. The first goal was a rebounder after Robinho saw his effort stopped by goalie Ricardo, van Nistelrooy was in the right place at the right time. The second was an exact copy of the first. The third goal came from a scrimmage. And so it was 3-0 at halftime and van Nistelrooy had made his hat trick.
In the second half van Nistelrooy was still unstoppable scoring a magnificent fourth goal after a beautiful through ball from Emerson maneuvering van Nistelrooy in an excellent scoring position and he scored using his left.
