Lyon have now won seven consecutive championships and it is hard to see who has the consistency to stop them adding an eighth. This weekend they won 1-0 at Monaco whilst second place Marseille kept in touch by winning at Grenoble 3-0.St. Etienne continued their bad run which has seen them drop into the bottom 3 when they lost 0-3 at home to Rennes. It was a result that saw manager Laurent Roussey lose his job. Paris St. Germain beat Lille at their Parc des Princes stadium 1-0.

Germany

Bayer Leverkusen knocked newly promoted Hoffenheim off the top of the 1. Bundesliga when they drew 3-3 in a thriller at Karlsruhe. Bayern Munich won 2-1 at Schalke 04 to go 3rd. Wolfsburg beat Cottbus 3-0 leaving the beaten side adrift at the bottom with only 6 points.

BelgiumClub Brugge stay top of the Jupiler League after a 2-2 draw at Charleroi. City rivals Cercle beat Zulte-Waregem 2-0 (I know as I was there) to climb above mid table. Anderlecht surprisingly lost at home 2-3 to Lokeren to stay 2nd. KSV Roeselare remain dangerously adrift at the bottom on 5 points.

Greece
