NFL Elimination: On to Week 3

Part of: NFL Elimination

The Elimination game has been brutal on the Blogcritics faithful. Fourteen good contestants have already gone down in two weeks. But five sly souls remain in the game:

Matt Cary picked ... gulp ... Detroit (lost to Chicago 38-6)
El Bicho picked Dallas (lost to Washington 14-13)
Tito Pampling made no pick

STILL IN:
Chelsea Lou picked Tampa Bay (beat Buffalo 16-3)
Chunk51 picked Philadelphia (beat San Francisco 42-3)
Eric Berlin picked Philadelphia as well
Zach Baker picked Philadelphia also
Joel Hammond picked Pittsburgh (beat Houston 27-7)

And for our entrants, the selections narrows as four teams — Baltimore, Detroit, Washington and Houston — begin the round of bye weeks.

Everyone except CL can (and should) pick the Colts.

(Note to Matt - The Bengals are 2-0, not 1-1...)

And CL should probably pick the Eagles...IMHO, of course... ;-)

"El Bicho picked Dallas (lost to Washington 14-13)"

My only excuse is that I didn't know you guys counted the last four minutes of the game. I know the Dallas secondary doesn't.

Joel, genius pick taking Cincy in week 1.

As a side thread, let's wager who we think will win of these five survivors.

You know everyone remaining is sweating RJ's pick.

    LOL! :)

I think CL will win, and make it to about Week Six...

    Goodbye, Chelsea.

Silly people. Girls don't know what football is.

I'm going for my first "chance-y" pick: Green Bay over the Bucs.

I just can't see the Pack and Favre going down 0-3 at home.

And that's the whole of my rationale for this week, kids!

I just realized that XFL book I linked to Amazon is priced at 65 bucks. Hoo-boy, nobody's gonna buy that now.

Berlin, you're in trouble, but you've been in two weeks longer than I have, so who knows?

    Chelsea's so going to win.

I'd say good picks this week are Philly, Tampa Bay (sorry, Berlin) and Tennessee, probably in that order.

Is something wrong with the site? All the comments on the side are gone.

    That is all.

My pick this week would be San Diego. The Giants' two wins are against Arizona and New Orleans. They travel cross-country to a team who lost two close games to Dallas and Denver. It's Berlin logic but it's crazy enough to work.

So, playing for an iota of macho pride, I would pick the Chargers.

Hope Favre's accuracy treats you better than it did me and RJ, Berlin.

Were I still alive, I would've picked Seattle over Arizona. Looks like a good week though.

I'm going to have to go with RJ and say the easiest picks this week are the Colts and Eagles.

For pride and a challenge, I'd go with Rams over Titans.

The Giants will defeat the Chargers by virtue of the fact that they are the Greatest Team on the Planet.

Or something... When Eli puts his whole game together, hopefully later this season, the G-men will be something to behold. Their run defense has also been outstanding thus far.

The anti-Christ shall come from the line of Manning. The Kingdom of Heaven shall not open its gates unto them. For His Judgment Cometh and that right soon.

Repent, EB. Go outside right now, spin around 3x, spit, and curse. I fear for your soul, sir.

Ah, my soul was lost somewhere circa mid '95 (when I joined the rugby team, most likely) so I might as well live it up whilst the sun still shines!

Yeah I'll take Indy over the Brownies.

  • 21 - El Bicho

    Sep 22, 2005 at 5:01 pm

Green Bay? How is this guy still in it?! They lost to Cleveland. I'll take Tampa and give the 3.5 points

    Say good night, Mr. Berlin.

    Sep 22, 2005 at 5:22 pm

Hey, hate on me all you want if the Pack loses. I'm betting on Lambeau and the pride of Favre to pull them through against a largely unproven Bucs team.

I personally will not count Favre down-for-the-count quite yet.

I'll be at a wedding on Sunday, so I'll be racing for the scores come evening time...

Yes, yes, as I've been reminded through harassing phone calls, I am the last to come in with a pick. Sorry I have a life. ;)

Anyway, I'm going with Philly over the Raiders.

Suss, stop calling me and hanging up. I know it's you breathing.
