Prediction: USF 27-14
West Virginia and Rutgers also meet this week in game that could still decide who goes to the BCS from the conference. The Mountaineers are still banged up and the Scarlet Knights are at home and coming off a big win last weekend against USF. I like Rutgers in a close one.
Not a lot going on in the Big Ten this weekend...Northwestern, Purdue, Wisconsin, and Indiana will play each other to sort out the logjam in the middle of the conference. Iowa and Michigan State will play for pride. Michigan will...well, try and beat the spread, I guess, because that should be far more challenging than beating Minnesota. Illinois makes another trip out of conference for Ball State.
Oh wait that's right. This weekend is Ohio State-Penn State. Last weeks win helped Penn State (though their offense could've been better) move back into third place, and a win this week could give them an outside shot at the title (outside because they already lost to Michigan). As one sportswriter said, sure Ohio State is #1, but right now their hardest game was against mediocre Purdue. Neither PSU or OSU has played a defense this good yet, so there should be a lot of fabulous collisions. The game is in Happy Valley, where PSU has a much better chance, but I don't know if I can go with them.
Winners: Northwester, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Penn State. No reason to stop being a homer now.
I sort of feel Like Dennis Franchione at this point. With the picks I have been making, I should totally lose my “job”. But I won one game, my “Pink Slip Bowl”, to save me from another shut out last week. With a 1-2 week, I “improve” to 6-12. No more quotes. Let’s go to my ridiculous picks in week 9.
Kansas (-2.5) at Texas A&M - Martellus Bennett is not a bank robber. He resists the several offers he has to fill that job. But he is a crook at heart. Bennett steals a touchdown against Kansas and A&M makes Franchione the most successful coach who is going to get fired at the end of this season. Can you believe that the Aggies will be a half game ahead in the Big XII South if they win and Franchione is still an endangered species in College Station? A&M pulls the upset and ends this Kansas craziness.

Hi, Josh, your fan club checking in...
Wow, I had forgotten about the intense hatred Bama has toward Phil. Thanks for reminding me, lol. Funny how just a couple of weeks ago the Tenn/SC tilt was expected to be possibly the one that decided the East. But UT gets their 3rd blowout (when they lose, they lose big) and Spurrier actually loses to Vandy. I think you'll get your wish in this game, however.
Ga/Fla...oh yeah, Florida all the way.
And the others:
Auburn/Ole Miss: despite the loss last week, the War Eagles have played much better since dropping one at home vs. Moo State in week 3 and will probably win out from here. So of course they'll take this one against a coach who is in a race with Bill Callaghan to the head of the unemployment line.
MSU/KY: Moo State in an upset! Yeah, dream on.
