West: This one's a little simpler. First place Houston (7-4, 6-2) is done with conference play, so they're just gonna toss the ball around with FCS opponent Texas Southern (0-10, 0-9 SWAC). I know. It doesn't make sense to me either. But Tulsa's in control here. The Golden Hurricanes (8-3, 5-2) just need to beat Rice (3-8, 3-4) on the road and the West is theirs. Lose, and UH goes to the championship game.
Nothing else is at stake in the other games. Either fun, bragging rights, or for a win in the win column. However you look at it. SMU (1-10, 0-7) limps to the finish line with a game at Memphis (6-5, 5-2), Southern Miss (6-5, 5-2) practices their skeet shootin' against Arkansas State (5-6, 3-4 Sun Belt) and Marshall (2-9, 2-5) rounds out their horrendous season with a game against UAB (2-9, 1-6).
With the season nearing its conclusion, the only team in the Indies with any sort of a shot at a bowl bid is Navy who have a cakewalk final game in one of college football's most storied rivalries; the Army-Navy game. But that's still two weeks away, so let's get to the rest of it all.
Notre Dame @ Stanford
Dare I dream that the Irish can string together two in a row and some how put this miserable season to bed on something of a positive note? Methinks the fates are against me. Let's face it, both these teams are horrible and the winner is going to come down to who plays the least bad football. At home and wanting so badly to stick to the Irish, Stanford takes this one. May gods prove me a fool for my lack of faith, but somehow I think I'll still be standing come Sunday.
Western Kentucky @ North Texas
Wow, did anyone else see that shoot-out last week with the Mean Grean and Navy? 136 points in a game, damn, did they let the Orioles on the field? Anyway, North Texas won't score nearly as much against the Hilltoppers who look to close the season at 8-4. Not bad for a team's first year playing at the Division I level.
It was a day four years in the making, as Bowling Green seniors finally got their first win over Toledo, and in lopsided fashion. The 38-10 win Friday afternoon was BG's first over their rival since 2003. The Rockets finish the strange season at 5-7, and Bowling Green leads the conference with wins at 8-4. They should expect a bid from the International Bowl.
Before the Battle of I-75, though, Central Michigan had to squeeze out a late-minute victory down in Akron, 35-32. If this was a tune-up game (CMU was going to the MAC championship regardless of outcome), consider Dan LeFevour the quarterback version of Pimp My Ride. LeFevour finished the game with 514 all-purpose yards and 4 total touchdowns.

To: Big 12 Athletic Conference:
The Big 12 athletic conference should add men's soccer as a sport. Soccer has increased in popularity and boys should have the dream of playing for their favorite Big Twelve team.
