MLB Week 3: Cub Luck, Colorado Beanball, Bonds "Homer"

Part of: MLB Report

It's been three weeks already? That means it's time to look back:

A homer in Coors Field is still a homer. Given that, Barry Bonds is finally on the board. -- Fark

Days after inking a $65 million deal with the Cubs, Derrek Lee hurt his wrist and is out for several weeks. Oh, and he hurt himself while colliding with new teammate reliever Scott Eyre, who is also hurt. -- Baseball Musings

But there's good news for the Cubs: With everything Greg Maddux has accomplished, he never began a season 4-0. Now he has. -- OpenlineBlog

Omar Vizquel and Jose Mesa have a problem with each other, primarily because Vizquel called out Mesa in his autobiography regarding the crucial blown save in the '97 World Series. So when their teams face off five people can get ejected in one game. -- Deadspin

Thursday was kind of boring, so we talked about Jerry Koosman. -- Blogcritics

It may be four score fewer, but Dan's "Mendoza Line" game looks eerily familiar to Two Eighty. -- Dan's Take

One theory to the Mets poor week: a sucky new anthem. -- The Mighty MJD

Nationals GM Jim Bowden was arrested for a DUI. So that explains the Soriano saga. -- The Sports Frog

Chris Shelton is now in a slump but at least he's working on his home run trot. -- The Futon Report
