Newcastle's biggest transfer brings striker Michael Owen back to the Premiership League. The Tynesiders are bringing Owen from Real Madrid, they revealed at a press conference at noon on Wednesday. They will also open St. James' Park at 1 pm so that fans can welcome Michael Owen.
The reaction in Newcastle is positive. They hope Owen will help the struggling team after its scoreless start this season.
Owen has signed a four-year contract with a nice package from the Magpies. The sum of that package has not been revealed, but it is believed to be a club record over 15 million English pounds. In addition to the financial gain, the 25 year-old will be playing more than the bit part he was with Real Madrid.
Owen will be wearing number 10 with his new team Newcastle United.
