The Miami Dolphins surprised fans with its extraordinary defense last Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Dolphins defense, with nine new players, has been struggling since its losses against the New York Jets, New England Patriots, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins' kicker Dan Carpenter kicked a field goal which was the key play in the game and ultimately led to second year player Brian Hartline's reverse end around for 30 yards. Carpenter continued to play strong and delivered five total field goals which kept Miami in the game. Miami Dolphins' Ricky Williams later hustled 18 yards down the field to score a touchdown and gave the Dolphins a victory of 22-14.
The Cincinnati Bengals put up a challenge when quarterback Carson Palmer threw two touchdowns to Terrell Owens, keeping them in the lead. However, it was a Carson Palmer interception by Sean Smith which led to Cincinnati's demise.
The Dolphins record for the season is four wins and three losses. They continue to keep Dolphins fans on their toes and wondering if their team will bring home another win this afternoon against the Baltimore Ravens.
