Just another 7-2 day at the office last week. Then again, who of us saw Temple over Buffalo?
12 noon — Toledo (2-2) at Ball State (0-4) (TV: ESPN Plus/GamePlan)
I don't know if Aaron Opelt is a better quarterback than Dan LeFevour, but which would you rather have on your team? Sure, LeFevour poses a threat to run the ball, but with Opelt, you don't even need a punter. The UT quarterback kicked the ball three times for 96 yards, including a 40-yarder against Florida International. So if the main problem for the team is punting, they really won't have to worry about it against Ball State, who allows over 400 yards per game. Toledo 48, Ball State 26
1 p.m. — Temple (1-2, 1-0 MAC) at Eastern Michigan (0-3) (TV: Nope)
The Owls' win over Buffalo was a shock to the groin of common logic in the MAC East. Just when you thought you knew who the best team was in the division ... the balance of power was shifted. But Temple can't rest on that marquee win, especially if UB continues to freefall. Eastern is well rested but is unsure which quarterback to use. Ooh, that'll be fun. Two quarterbacks! WILDCAT™! Still winless, though. Temple 26, EMU 20
1 p.m. — No. 10 Cincinnati (4-0, 1-0 Big East) at Miami (0-4, 0-2 MAC) (TV: ESPN360)
Ha. Haha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. [wipes tear from eye] Cincinnati 47, Miami 3
3:30 p.m. — Western Michigan (2-2, 1-0 MAC) at Northern Illinois (2-2) (TV: CSN Chicago/ESPN GamePlan/ESPN360)
Okay, enough East Division bashing. It's time for some solid MAC West contender elimination. WMU is going to have a brutal next three weeks, starting off with this game and then traveling to Toledo and finally hosting Central. NIU gets a bye next week, and . Advantage, home team. NIU 34, WMU 24
3:30 p.m. — Central Michigan (3-1, 1-0 MAC) at Buffalo (1-3, 0-1 MAC) (TV: T-W SportsNet-Buffalo/ESPN GamePlan/ESPN360)

Isn't it clear that Miami is going to kill Cinci

It's entirely possible Cincinnati could die of laughter.
