But I look at what Monta (Ellis) has had to deal with on the Warriors, who’ve been decimated more than any other team with injuries. I see what he does for them every night, and I thought he was All-Star worthy. That’s not to say that Tyreke isn’t, but if I had to pick between the two, I would’ve leaned towards Monta. I also didn’t think that Stern would pick a rookie, and I was right about that.
Do you think a trip back to the playoffs is within reach in the near future?
I’d go two or three years, just because the West is so stacked. You assume at some point, Tim Duncan will be done, but the Spurs will be around. A lot of the Lakers’ key guys are still young. Oklahoma City and Memphis are two teams who’ll be right there. I think the Kings still have a few holes in their roster, but in two or three years, if they get a couple of bigs and Tyreke and Casspi continue to improve, they’ll be in the mix. There’s a foundation and they’re moving in the right direction.
Thank you very much for your time and looking forward to a great finish to the season.
Not a problem at all. Anytime.
