Anyone else surprised to see our top two from the WAC?
3. Brady Quinn, Sr., Notre Dame (279 FPs)
Quinn finished 5th in QB points scored but his consistency on a weekly basis gives him the nod. Double digit points every week of the season regardless of the opponent made him as safe as Fort Knox in your lineup. He's also the only senior to make the FCB AA QB team.
4. Graham Harrell, So., Texas Tech (290 FPs)
The Texas Tech QB always seems to be here at the top (see Klingsbury, Symons, Cumbie). Harrell was 3rd in pass yards and 2nd in TD passes. Two poor games against TCU and Colorado may have cost owners a couple wins, but the overall numbers again stagger the mind.
Opinions varied among the voters, with Vince ignoring him on his Top Five (cited the inconsistency) and Daniel putting him up at #2.
5. Chase Daniel, So., Missouri (274 FPs)
Daniel, like Quinn, gets higher marks for being consistent as he also had double digit points every week. His great mix of running and passing project him to be one of the top QBs for 2007.
Vince takes some credit here as he was the ONLY staffer to have Daniel on his pre-season Top 20. But Drew would like to remind everyone that Vince also had Kyle Wright at No. 8!
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Pat White, Jr., West Virginia — actually No. 2 in our Fantasy Points (1,000 yards rushing and 1,500 passing), but wildly inconsistent. He led all QBs in rushing and rushing TDs (17)
John Beck, Sr., BYU — great 30:6 TD/int ratio, but two horrible games were not good enough for the third ranked in Points Responsible.
Stay tuned for the RBs and WRs.
