Bundesliga: Easy Win For Werder, Stuttgart Taunts Hamburger SV

FC Nürnberg - Werder Bremen 1-2

Werder Bremen played out the match on routine and didn’t put in more effort than needed. The leader of the Bundesliga played a very average match but still managed to take home the three points. After approximately 30 minutes Torsten Frings scored the 1-0. About 15 minutes before the end of the match Diego scored from a freekick for the 2-0. Nürnberg scored the 2-1 in injury time.

FSV Mainz - Vfl Wolfsburg 1-2

Wolfsburg won again, even though this was a close one. Starting with three Dutchmen, Wolfsburg opened the score with a penalty after Nikolce Noveski took down Rick Hoogendorp in the box.

However, three minutes later Mainz scored the equaliser after he got rid of his direct opponent Kevin Hofland. But in the 84th minute the Wolfsburg team scored the winning goal and still took home the three points.

Borussia Dortmund - Allemannia Aachen 0-0

Dortmund scored their fourth consecutive draw in a row. Dortmund started off real well but failed to impress attack-wise. In fact it was Aachen who got the best chances at the end of the match.

VfB Stuttgart - Hamburger SV 2-0

Rafael van der VaartHSV are merely a shadow of the team they were last season. Due to the many injuries and some being long term (Vincent Kompany won’t be back until March 2007) the team hasn’t performed as they should.

In tonight’s match, HSV surely weren’t the lesser of Stuttgart — in fact they even had a slight edge over the men from Stuttgart, but they failed to pose a real threat in front of the goal. HSV captain Rafael van der Vaart tried his luck with a few shots but had no success.

The hometeam undeservedly took the lead in the 80th minute and after HSV failed to cash in a major chance it was Thomas Hitzlsperger who scored the 2-0 for Stuttgart.
