The following is a partial transcript of the June 20 edition of the BC Sports Treehouse Fort.
Tuffy: The Boston Celtics finished off the Los Angeles Lakers in six games to capture the NBA Championship this week. Bill Plaschke of the Los Angeles Times, who claimed Paul Pierce faked his Game 1 injury, will no longer be forced to fake interest in basketball and can turn his attention back to Tommy Lasorda's needs.
Suss: Immediately after the Celtics won the NBA Finals, Wheaties announced its latest box featuring Kevin Garnett. Not to be outdone, subsequent boxes of Lucky Charms will feature Brian Scalabrine.
Tuffy: The Green Bay Packers have shown apparent interest in Dolphins DE Jason Taylor. Word from Green Bay is that they're one short for their charity softball game.
Suss: The Toronto Blue Jays fired manager John Gibbons and three other coaches. Hollywood insiders contend the implosion of the managers was done in Toronto because it was too expensive to fire the entire New York Yankees staff.
Tuffy: Tiger Woods will soon undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL, two fractures in his tibia, and a genetic defect that prevents him from effectively giving high fives.
Tuffy: Curt Schilling will also undergo surgery soon that will keep him out until at least next year's All-Star Break if not force his retirement. Buzz Bissinger has already chosen to write his next book on the former world champion called Goddamned Bloggers with Their Dirty Bloody Socks and Their Rock and Roll Music and Where's My Pants?
Suss: Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder hit an inside the park home run against the Toronto Blue Jays, which measured a 4.3 on the Richter scale.
Suss: Charles Barkley announced he will be participating in a Las Vegas poker tournament with proceeds going to charity. Last month Barkley said he would not gamble for a while after owing $400,000 to a Vegas casino, but said he couldn't say no to this year's charity, Plate Glass Windows For Tots.
Tuffy: The NBA has asked a judge to make Tim Donaghy pay an additional $400,000 in damages after his comments during the NBA Finals about possible game fixing by the league. Also, court documents mention something about "15 minutes with the Gimp". It's assumed this is Clippers guard Shaun Livingston.
Suss: And finally, a boat owned by sportscaster Bob Uecker was damaged after a 550-foot freighter crashed into it. Police have issued a warrant for Al Czervik.
