The following is a partial transcript of the June 13, 2008 episode of the BC Sports Treehouse Fort.

In U.S. Open news, Tiger Woods trailed Rocco Mediate by six strokes at one point in San Diego today. It is assumed that Rocco Mediate is some kind of golfer that occasionally plays against Tiger Woods; Treehouse Fort is investigating.

Major League Baseball has stated they intend to institute instant replay for "boundary calls" by August 1, thus finally saving baseball's fans from any potential that a fast-paced game might break out at any time.

Dontrelle Willis has been sent down to the Detroit Tigers' Single-A affiliate in Lakeland, Florida, to work on his control after another disappointing outing for the big-league club. The hope from Tigers brass is that this will improve his results as he has always pitched well in Florida.

The Chicago Bears released Cedric Benson this week and also lost their running back Adrian Peterson to an emergency appendectomy. Gale Sayers has been asked to attend minicamp next week in his motorized scooter.

Former NBA official Tim Donaghy claims that referees are encouraged to keep star players in the game and to elongate playoff series, much like happened in Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals between Sacramento and Los Angeles. Former King Chris Webber insisted this was not a big deal; he's certain he would have found a way to choke the game away himself if need be.

In quick succession in the second quarter of Thursday night's Game 4 of the NBA Finals, ABC NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy told the Celtics they needed the drunken master-style energy of Will Smith's Hancock, declared Hitch a great film, and named Kevin James as the greatest comic actor alive. At roughly that point, the Celtics went on a near-historical run to secure a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals. In other news, Chicago Bulls GM John Paxson has not signed Vinny Del Negro to a contract, instead choosing Kevin James as his next head coach.

Finally, in political news, 'Meet the Press' helmer Tim Russert died at 58. He famously once said on Meet The Press that he attended Woodstock in a Buffalo Bills jersey with a case of beer. If there is a higher power, she should really let the Bills win the Super Bowl this season or else prepare to be peppered with incredibly difficult philosophical questions until she does. And this is the Treehouse Fort.
