Four weeks ago a last-second field goal put the Seattle Seahawks on top of the St. Louis Rams 30-28. Once again it came down to a field goal. This time, with 9 seconds left in the game, Josh Brown kicked his only field goal of the game to put the Hawks over the Rams 24-22, ending yet another nail-biter in Seattle.
The Hawks looked good early, but it was St. Louis that struck first. Seneca Wallace took the Hawks down to St. Louis' 1 yard-line on their opening drive, but Wallace fumbled after a sack by Leonard Little and Victor Adeyanju ran the ball back 89 yards for a touchdown.
Wallace turned around and marched the Hawks down the field again, but this time Darrell Jackson punched it in for a touchdown.
Jeff Wilkins put up a 40-yard field goal in the 1st, a 42-yard field goal in the 2nd, and one more in the third for 35 yards, while the Hawks put up another touchdown in the 2nd, a 15-yard run by Jerramy Stevens.
Up 16-14 at the start of the 4th quarter, the Rams found themselves at 4th-and-1 on the Hawks' 12 yard-line. Instead of settling for three, the Rams went for it. Bulger attempted a pass into the end-zone, but came up empty. A mistake that gave Seattle a chance after their 89-yard mistake in the first.
Both defenses dug in to give their offense a chance and held strong, but Seattle's special teams came up big. After St. Louis punted from Seattle's 49 yard-line, Nate Burleson returned the ball 90 yards for a touchdown. St. Louis answered with a 19 yard touchdown run by Steven Jackson, but failed on the two-point conversion.
Trailing 22-21 with 2:30 left in the game, Josh Scobey returned the kickoff 33 yards to the St. Louis 49-yard-line. Wallace got them down to the 20 yard line for Brown to save the day once again.

Before the season I said Seattle would repeat as NFC champs (well, okay, Week 3) and began the ol' collar tug when Hasselxander went down. But they're holding their own, and oughta finish with 11 wins.
Then once 100% healthy they can make a Cardinalesque playoff run.

The hawks still have a bumpy road ahead. I havent seen much from the offensive line this year. and the injuries have slowed them down. But they seem to find a way to win. And a victory by field goals, still puts another digit into the "wins" column.
