I was invited to attend an open house at FILA’s New York City showroom. I had heard about some of their new items and wanted to get a firsthand look.
When I arrived, the FILA staff along with their PR folks warmly welcomed me. As I waited for Lauren Mallon, the PR Director at FILA, the receptionist offered me sushi, Diet Coke or Pellegrino. She was exceptionally nice.
When Lauren came to greet me I was so impressed with her expertise in the FILA brand and its history. She showed me the new Body Toning System. I noticed that the material seemed heavy, but she told me that it was redesigned and that it’s a dry fit so it will wisp away the sweat.
“Wow, that is so cool,” I said. “And it makes you look slimmer?”
“Yes,” she said. “You will look a size smaller.”
That really excited me since I wear so many NIKE products and I feel as if everything hangs out. I know this may sound kind of weird, but I want to look good when I run and when I go to the gym, even when I’m working hard.
She told me that the line came out last year, but this year they introduced new vibrant colors: red, blue, purple, etc.
When I left, they gave me a “look” book and I read that it not only makes you look slimmer, but it helps you tone faster. The brochure says that it “isn’t just Spanx-in-disguise. It fits snuggly and comfortably plus increases circulation and muscle resistance to seek? out maximum toning during exercise.”
The Body Toning System comes in tanks, capris, skorts, shorts and pants. You can even get a Body Toning System Jacket! Now how cool is that?
I haven’t tried it yet but if it works, I think that will be my one and only workout attire! Out with the NIKE's and in with the FILA’s, which will make me look thinner than I am. Now that’s something that appeals to me! I can't wait to try them out!
