Sacramento has focused on stockpiling young talent over the last few seasons, including big man DeMarcus Cousins – who called last year’s 100-95 win in Los Angeles the highlight of his rookie campaign – in the hopes of making a run back into postseason contention. The Kings have quietly come out victorious in two of the last three match-ups with the Lakers, with the one loss coming in overtime after a spirited 20-point comeback on the final night of the 2010-11 season.
With Cousins, Tyreke Evans, Marcus Thornton, and rookie Jimmer Fredette leading the charge, it is conceivable that the two old enemies could meet in the postseason for the first time in nine years, renewing the once hotly-heated and never-ending rivalry. And after last night’s victory, combined with the suddenly declining 0-2 Lakers, the Kings – back in the beloved black jerseys, no less –could finally pull off the long-awaited upset.

Keep hope alive, though I wouldn't put too much into last night's win, considering Bynum's on suspension, Lakers played the night before, and they are learning new system.

I completely agree that the Lakers weren't at full strength last night, but it was a still a big win for the Kings. Also, this will be a pretty crazy season due to the compressed schedule, and the Kings, unlike have plenty of depth to withstand it.
