Smashing Pumpkins Hit The Studio

The Smashing Pumpkins have announced they are back in the studio to work on their first album in seven years. The band split in 2000 but a couple members have recently reunited. Singer Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain of the original lineup are back with the project, and it is unknown who else is currently involved. The band is working on their new album with producer Roy Thomas Baker.

YouTube Aims for Music Videos

YouTube, Inc. is in talks with major record labels in order to post music videos. They say their aim is to have every single music video ever made available for viewing on their website. It intends to continue to offer its content for free. They are currently working on a business model allowing them to continue this.

CBS to Webcast Katie Couric

CBS has announced it will debut a live webcast of the Evening News with Katie Couric. The webcast will be offered online for free and supported by advertisements. Viewers will have to register to view the program, which will be synchronized with their time zone. After the show has aired it will be available in on-demand form. The webcasts will also be supplemented with web-only content.
