Skype blame user reboot for system crash

The internet telephone service Skype has said that its two day outage was due to a massive user reboot. The outage was suffered last week after millions of its users downloaded a Microsoft update and simultaneously rebooted their computers which caused the failure of their peer-to-peer network. The reboots caused a large number of log-in requests that caused a chain reaction causing the network outage.

Lily Allen cancels US dates following visa problems

Lily Allen has had to cancel tour dates in the United States due to problems securing a visa. Allen said earlier this year that she will return to the U.S., but it is unknown when that will happen now due to the visa problems. This is the second time this year that Allen has cancelled tour dates in the U.S.

Pete Doherty arrested

Pete Doherty of the band Babyshambles was arrested in London following his set at the V Festival. The singer was stopped in his car prior to the arrest, which occurred in the Tower Hamlets in East London. This arrest increases the singer's chances of receiving jail time when he goes before a judge for sentencing for previous drug offences next month.
