The Silver Coast stretches from Lisbon at its most southerly point to Figueira Da Foz at the northern end.

The Silver Coast of Portugal is rapidly gaining popularity as a tourist destination and because of the quality of the regions history, architecture, beaches and wines, is becoming a favorite region to buy property.

It is also known primarily as a fruit growing region where vast quantities of Pera Rocha, Gala Apples and grapes of different varieties are farmed and picked every year.

The Silver Coast is also a place where, due to it’s rolling hills and good sunlight quota, much natural energy is harvested.

Holidays in Portugal are a mixed bag of fun and activities or relaxing beach breaks. There are plenty of golf courses and water sports to be found by the energetic tourist. It is true to say that when seeking accommodation in Portugal, it is the Algarve that should be investigated.

People are blogging about the Silver Coast at sites like Silver Coast Life, and there are also forums available like Expatsportugal.com offering information.
