With that force-of-nature rock ‘n’ roll bellow, Bob Seger sounds like no one else. Though I am less inclined toward his later ballad hits, his basic canon is indelible and crucial – I’m very glad he is being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. The classics are “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” “Get Out of Denver” “Hollywood Nights” “Night Moves” “Katmandu” “Mainstreet” “Rock and Roll Never Forgets” “Beautiful Loser” and yes, “Old Time Rock & Roll.”
“Katmandu,” “Beautiful Loser” and “Rock and Roll Never Forgets” are on his Greatest Hits 2, released back in November.
Seger will field questions from fans in a simultaneous syndicated radio special and online chat on Monday, February 2nd , at 9:30 p.m. E.S.T. The special will be his first one-on-one with radio listeners in over a decade, and his first-ever online chat. MSN will host the online portion.
Premiere Radio Networks is sponsoring a contest that will enable one lucky fan (and their guest) to attend this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony. In addition, the winner will receive round-trip airfare for two to New York City, two nights hotel accommodations, round-trip limo transportation between the airport and hotel and an autographed copy of Seger’s Greatest Hits 2. Details on how to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame contest will be provided via the local radio stations broadcasting the “Bob Seger: Greatest Hits 2 and More” special.
