The first Final Fantasy title originally developed for the Nintendo DS is coming.

Oh it is coming.

Though you very well may ask what, the answer is simple – a whole lot of things.  However, we're not discussing a whole lot of things today, we're only discussing, as the title for this article suggests (or states outright), Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light.  The game, which was recently announced, is the first FF game developed specifically for the Nintendo DS and not just rejiggered for Nintendo's portable system.

What does that mean for you, the Nintendo DS owner?  Well, hopefully it'll make good use of the system's touchscreen and not just throw touchscreen stuff on as an afterthought, but if you're looking for specifics, you won't find them here.  What you will find are a few screenshots that have been released for the title and also us telling you a little about the story.  Said story involves a young lad, Brandt, who, while on a little journey ends up finding out that he needs to save the entire world.  Bet you didn't see that one coming, did you?

Did you see the fact that there will be over two dozen possible jobs coming?  How about the fact that the game is being developed by the same team who did the FFIII & IV DS remakes.  See, you don't know everything, do you?

Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light is due out October 5, 2010.
