First, look at this. Do you notice anything?
The top four time zones for BlogCritics visitors are the same four time zones of the continental US. This, perhaps, should not be surprising.
But this is, after all, mainly a blog on pop culture and the media. And American culture and media are now the de facto world culture and media.
There is no reason why an english-speaking European (as most of the educated there are) should not visit Blogcritics. Yet it seems we attract a small number of readers from this demographic.
Perhaps, Eric, our proposed media fund should focus on the European reader. What Web publications (in english) do they read? What are the costs of advertising there?
Is anyone with me on this, or should we continue to focus on the North American market when the media fund becomes a reality?
Thought, comments, suggestions, ideas?

I see the numbers have shifted somewhat since my post. It seems readers in the Mountain Time Zone are now falling behind several other categories. But the other three US time zones continue to garner well over 80% of the total BlogCritics traffic by themselves.
Anyways, this is just a thought. I feel it is important to have this debate before a final decision is made. The decision will be made from up-top, but I'm sure any input from down-below will be crucial.

Good thinking RJ.
We should consider trading url's with select online publications in other zones. A good place to find these pubs is at Google News, which applies its algorhythms to the news by most recent post, so it's my best up-to-the-minute tool. I've run into some great rags that way. I wish they all could find us at once.
English is the world language. China is huge, and they all speak. Blogspot, through Google, is banned, as am I, from China, rather sad, but not BC. Still I've had days of 15% Chinese viewership because I do get through in the north. The market is huge, yet dumb, prone to arguments about "American food make American basketball players. So I eat American food!" I think we'd fit right in over there, oh yeah.
Well, if they want us, they'll know where to find us, right?

Keine Idee.

Well, I just looked at it at 7:51 am ET, one of the mainland European zones is #1, ET is #2, and #3 is zone at Greenwich.
So it may just be that this jumps around, depending on who is awake and who is asleep.
