4: DriveMe
DriveMe is a very interesting application, and one that is highly useful. It will record your speed, distance traveled, and other useful little tidbits. Then, it will graph it, give you average speeds, idle time, and even allow you to enter ongoing attempts at the same route. This allows you to compute your work route, find better ways, and make sure that you speed only a little bit. Additionally, DriveMe has a database that stores your maintenance information, allowing you to keep everything you need in one place. The only downside is that there is foreign language lettering alongside the English words. Though the fun tidbits of your drive make it worth the $.99, the maintenance log makes DriveMe a no-brainer.
3: Tradewinds 2
Tradewinds 2 is an interesting and addictive game. Basically, you take control of a ship during the Golden Era of Piracy, and decide what to do. You can play as five different characters, battle ships, and trade. This game is very similar to various computer games, but extremely unique to the iPhone. The graphics might look cartoonish, but the game play, the controls, and the UI are absolutely flawless. Plus, as an open-ended game, you can get hours of entertainment out of it. Take control of your ship and sail the seven seas with Tradewinds 2 for only $2.99 today.
2: Doom Resurrection
One of my favorite first person shooters of all time was a little game known as Doom. In the game, I could run around shooting monsters, and maybe even chainsawing them if I wanted to. Doom Resurrection takes me back to Mars, and makes me fight those daemons of Hell all over again. Oh, and it does it on my iPhone. With amazing graphics (note, they are better than those in the original game on a PC), a sweet story line, and great UI, this game is absolutely amazing. Frankly, in any other month, Doom would probably have been the first place winner. Doom Resurrection is expensive at $9.99, but it is well worth the price.

it is easier and free

Google docs is nowhere near as inclusive, nor is it as useful. Having a dedicated application lets you open everything nativly, save it, email it, and, more importantly, use it when not online.
