What is it about these little blue creatures that has captivated many of us for so long? Well, for starters, they're cute, cuddly and have just the right amount of humor, a lot of which, comes through in this storybook app for Apple's iOS.
The Smurfs storybook app follows Papa Smurf, Grouchy, Brainy, Clumsy, Gutsy and Smurfette as they flee the world they knew to a world they've never seen before - NYC. The Smurfs have to save themselves from the clutches of the Evil Wizard Gargamel and his sneaky cat Azrael, however, getting away from one problem presents another problem while trying to find their way around NYC.
The six Smurf buddies find themselves in a NYC flat occupied by a couple that is surprised to see the little blue creatures to say the least. The story follows them as their adventures twist and turn and completely throw The Smurfs for out of this world experience.
Whether parents choose to read the storybook to their children or allow them to explore the app themselves via the Read to Me, Read to Myself or Auto Play options, The Smurfs provides hours of enjoyment. The app also features a fun and interactive "Spot-the-Mistakes" game that includes three different scenes to challenge the user's ability to compare the scenes and find what's missing. Once an item is found, the user can tap on the missing item and win the game after all is complete.
