But cooler still is all the stuff about Backmasking. What this is, is when folks record a song and then put a message in there somewhere, so that when you play it backwards you hear "juhfgiodhrghriohn". Turns out there's other stuff, though, besides the bullshit garbling. Like for example, when you play Man In The Mirror by Michael Jackson backwards, you hear "Yeah Satan yeah, just like me exact." There's an audio file so as you can hear this diabolical carry-on. You'd think if he went to all that trouble he would have written something decent, like, I dunno, "Hey, I'm not guilty, y'all motherfuckers", but no, he just writes gibberish. Pretty much the same whether you play it backwards or forwards, then, to be honest.
It's a bit like that site I mentioned in the very first guide to the web-net, Rather Good, what has bits of songs with the wrong lyrics written onscreen, so you think you're hearing "Holding back the ears", and Mick Hucknal is singing about shagging a rabbit, but no, he's saying about holding back the years, you filthy minded malcontent. This whole backmasking malarkey is a bit like that. You're really just hearing "groooooooooooggggggggggohhhoo", but thanks to the text on this here site, you imagine that they're saying "yeah, we slap you too, we slap you", like in With Or Without You by Sexy Bono Plus Three.

Over at The Duke's home-web of Mondo Irlando, I got a message in my guest book (which has now disappeared - What the fuck gives, Geocities?) about how my front page should be submitted to Snopes. Obviously this individual doubted the validity of my claims about Anthony Hopkins playing Martin Luther King Jnr. in Chuck Norris' new film The Assassination Of Dr King.
As if I would be the kinda motherfucker what would fabricate a story for a cheap laugh. As if that was the way the world had gone, where a man can't even trust The Duke to be an ethical cat when it comes to the reportage and so on.
