  • FEMA Telephone Registration: If you would like to apply for Federal Disaster Assistance by telephone, you can contact us at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or for the hearing/speech impaired at TTY: 1-800-462-7585. The current hours and days of operation are 24 hours per day 7 days per week.

Mitigation

  • The Mitigation Division manages the National Flood Insurance Program and oversees FEMA's mitigation programs. It has of a number of programs and activities of which provide citizens Protection, with flood insurance; Prevention, with mitigation measures and Partnerships, with communities throughout the country.
  • The National Hurricane Program conducts and supports many projects and activities that help protect communities and their residents from hurricane hazards.

    i've applied for fema on line and never received my $2000.00, i'm in dire need as i have repairs to make. i'm 54 years and do not work. thanks for any help you can give me. hurricane katrina

    "Marlene" get in line with a contractor...like me, like everyone else, Wilma put the kids to work...whats dad doing to help?? When a hurricane struck my home I cleaned it up and fixed the damage and now the place , which had 36 " of water in it is better than new. You pay a price for good water front property ... I would move away from Louisianna cause it sounded pretty shitty snake infested swamp before the storm...
