Let's face it: headphones are a necessity in today's iPod world. MP3 players are probably more popular now than Walkmen or Discmen were in their heydays. I have seen MP3 players in the pockets of kids who haven't reached double-digits and adults who are nearing triple-digits. Most people just use the little ear buds that come with their MP3 player and for travel, that's great. But if you want a little more out of your music, try a pair of Skullcandy headphones.
Skullcandy produces a wide range of high-end headphones for every budget. One of their top-of-the-line models is the SK Pro. Intended for pro DJs, these headphones have the goods. The bass is thumping, and the treble is crystal-clear. For you techies:
For you non-techies: it sounds really really really good. Way better than your ear buds.

These headphones are incredibly comfortable. Super thick, soft padding is added to the head wrap and the earcups. As a life-long wearer of eye-glasses, I have always had a hard time finding headphones that are comfortable - I found comfort with the SK Pro. The earcups have "tri-axial" movement, allowing them to twist for a better fit. 90 degree rotation makes studio monitoring a breeze. And for those who aren't yet ready to give up the portability of earbuds, the SK Pro folds up compactly to about half its original size.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention the sleek styling; headphones are rarely seen as fashion accessories. Skullcandy was not as short-sighted, and all their headphones have a bit of panache. The SK Pro features white accents and skull imagery. Other Skullcandy headphones come in a Skittles assortment of colors, camouflage, faux bullets, metallic paint, and more. So now you can look as good as your music sounds.

Terrible review. Do you have any experience with headphones at all? This headphones are trash and are just a trendy toy. Then again, you are a fashion writer and a television producer, so no one would expect you to know anything about headphones, but please, at least put a warning at the head of the review stating "I do not know anything about headphones" so people will not be misled.

what is this jimmy kid talking about? Yeah, they may not be the best quality, but they still kick ass, and all skullcandy headphones pack a badass amount of bass. It's all about marketing, thats what made the Ipod. They're sweet, but I could name at least 10 devices that are better for the ridiculous prices and gimmicks that they hook us on. Skullcandy will attract the market, and they'll make their money. So are these headphones good? maybe not, but genius? YES

Hey.
I was a life long user of Sennheiser products. absolutley frikkin loved em. Then I bought these. I can honestly say that they are on par with sennheiser. The difference being the Sennheisers perform more all-round, but skullcandy's pack jedi-quality bass. Notice the two user comments couldn't name another brand, especially jimmyLICK who's just made a fool of himself.
I'd say I prefer them to Bose, and the only thign that I could possibly trade these in for are a higher-end pair of Sennheisers or some Bang and Olufsens.

So, 64 ohms? ...May not be as loud.
5 - Physist
Ohms measure resistance not intensity.

I'll probably be in the market for some good headphones in the next couple of months so I'll keep these in mind. My last three pair of home headphones have been Sennheisers but I had a good (but way too short) experience with some Skullcandy earbuds.

I ended up getting a pair of these skpro headphones(bright yellow ones) it was a circumstance in which I was able to get them for free(gift certificate to an online retailer) these were the best cans they sold on that site, so I went for it. These are definitely cool headphones, but compared to the Sennheiser hd280pro headphones($69-$114) the sound quality is lacking. I'm not a complete audiophile, but the difference is pretty obvious. So... free SKpro's vs. $80 Senn's I guess the skullcandy's have to take the gold medal, but if I were paying cash... wouldn't touch the Skullcandy's.

My son has a pair of Skullcandy Hesh and use them on the lift lines at the slopes.

For one you spelled "physicist" wrong. Two Ohms measure resistance and reactance, for overall impedance. Three if you knew anything about elementary physics you would know there is a relationship between impedance, voltage and current so impedance does effect "intensity".

have never heard a pair of these but had a pair of Ti's which distorted at quite low volumes and the headband broke within a month of home use. i now have a pair of sennheiser HD-25's absolutely love them great sound indestructable and every part is user replacable. i also like my AKG k271's which i think have slightly better sound but do tend to get a bit heavy after a while.

JimmyLICK is right, the review is shallow and does not fulfill the requirements of someone looking to purchase headphones. 90% of people out there think headhpones are just for listening to your ipod or equivalent mp3 player but in actual fact serious DJ's and producers require a high end product with reference quality, examples of this would be AKG K240 or K141's, Allen&Heath Xone XD-53 or the Sennheiser HD 25. These skullcandy headphones seem to be more of a fashion statement for wannabe DJ's than an actual quality audio product.
16 - RILEZ
i have a pair of grado sr 60 headphones which i think even outperform Sennheiser when it comes to sound quality overall. however i have this pair in the yellow and then the Proletariat NC and i have to say that they cater better to my taste in music, mostly stuff with more intense bass and shriller highs. i was thoroughly impressed with how well these headphones handle incredibly low bass and also intense bass like in the Beginning is the End is the Beginning by The Smashing Pumpkins. however not worth the hefty $150 off of skullcandy's website, buy them off of amazon or somewhere that they are cheaper. and my favorite thing about the headphones is actually the warranty program. you should check that out. but a definite buy for me

dumb ass, you shouldve used affect instead of effect. you criticize a persons spelling, but you criticize, and construct sentences with wrong grammar; that doesnt make you any more credible than him :|

Starting sentences with capital letters and ending with correct punctuation helps credibility as well. Sorry - couldn't resist.

Wow, massive cat fight among everyone. Have a pair of These headphones and i can say no to most parts of this review. The bass is strong enough to put the sound out of balance so could be toned down, and the mid range is below the level of clarity Djs would expect even at this price The High end sounds too shrill, but thats not a bad thing. The truth is they are for wannabe D.J's who don't know the difference between Sennheiser, Grado or Skullcandy. RILEZ is correct in stating that the Grado Sr 60's are among the best because they are, and they are definitely better than Sennheiser. I would buy a pair of grado's over these any day (already have) but for Children who dont know the difference, is it really going to bother them for the price they pay?
20 - Sk-pro
The sennheiser fans listen up! These are actually decent. With a audiophile headphone amp these pack a hell of a punch. My Beyerdynamic DT770s had Real bass but the SK-Pro kept up. The color, meh i look kinda retarded but the sound is pretty manageable with a regular Ipod. But if you are a real audiophile STAY AWAY! If you can get them for less than 70 bucks though DO IT!
21 - DJ?
i have a question for everyone. i have used sony dj headphones for quite a while and they seemed to provide the necessary frequency response i have needed. how would these headphones compare to those. keep in mind before you start to bash sony dj headphones... they have been a standard in florida clubs for about a decade so everyone speaking of these other brands, where do you play at? just wondering...
