Posting Tools

One of the important aspects of any task is the effectiveness of the tools you use. While I've been here, I've used AmazonGetInfo in conjunction with BBedit and Applescript to look up and get ASIN codes (I'm using Mac OSX, so if you ain't you are SOL).

However, about a month ago, Amazon changed their XML for product lookup, so AGI stopped working.

But, Jesse Shanks, who runs DigitallyObsessed, one of the best DVD review sites around, has upgraded the Applescripts behind AmazonGetInfo to work with BBEdit. So if you are using BBEdit, and posting to Blogcritics, you can get the script here. You just need to drag over the text you want to search Amazon for, and the script returns a page with the info. You will need a developer token and associates account.
And it returns like this:

$22.17

Now if BBEdit had a good inline spelling plug-in (the spelling checking is the weakest part of BBEdit), it would be the perfect online writing tool.
