LifeProof "Fre" iPhone Case Review: Four Proof Protection

Part of: Reviews in Brief

LifeProof offers excellent protection from all the harmful elements of life. The LifeProof Fre offers users peace of mind when taking on the unforeseen situations. The iPhone 5 is one of the best smartphones on the market and one of the most expensive. However, using the LifeProof Case helps ensure users are protecting their iPhone. They advertise being four proof strong which is water proof, dirt proof, snow proof, and shock proof.

The LifeProof Case is a great choice for any outdoor activities which involve water, dirt, mud, or any other elements which could damage the iPhone. It not only protects the device from water and mud but offers great shock absorption if the device is dropped. This case is also a great choice for all the beach lovers who carry their devices at the beach. It will keep all the sand and dust from getting into the iPhone and damaging it.

The new Lifeproof Fre case has a window on the backside which allows the Apple logo to be seen. This was one of the biggest complaints by users on the earlier models of the LifeProof case.

One of the coolest features of the LifeProof cases is the ability to take photo or video under water. Users may take photo and video up to 6.6 feet underwater. This isn’t a suitable case for a scuba diving but well in range of snorkelers or just the average swimmer who wants to take underwater photos.

Users may still use the iPhone’s audio for listening to video or music out loud. The sound is a bit muffled but there is always a trade off for protection. The headphone jack has an extension for keeping water from entering through the headphone jack. However, users should note they will need waterproof headphones for submerging their headphones underwater. Always be sure to replace the headphone seal after use for sealing the headphone jack area. This could completely ruin the iPhone if left out while placing the iPhone in water.

Hi there, loving the review. Also a wonderful case. Has anyone done a durability test on this bad boy? I'm not questioning the integrity of it, I'm just curious.

It's an awesome case. I have used them since the iPhone 4. They have one for the iPad also.

Nice case, but I prefer the Pong Research iPhone case. I read that the cell phones emit a dangerous non-ionizing form of electromagnetic radiation; radiation which can be absorbed by the tissues and cells which come into close contact with the phone. Then I researched ways to avoid the danger from cell phone radiation . I read about Pong Research cases, Pong technology is custom-designed for each mobile device and works to redirect radiation away from your head and body. I hesitated about it, anyway, I bought a case Pong because is the only technology proven in FCC-certified laboratories to reduce the exposure to mobile device radiation by up to 95% below the FCC limit without compromising the device’s ability to communicate.
