According to Ms. Greene, "Rock the Vote supports the young men and women in our military whose lives are now at risk. We hope the war will come to a swift conclusion with minimum loss of human life and that we can move on to build a better future for the Iraqi people. The millions of young people who hear this song should take Kravitz' message to heart and stand up for what they believe. As Lenny Kravitz says, 'we're at the crossroads,' and we need to defend democracy right now here at home." Again, does "standing up for what one believes" include equally hearfelt pro-liberation opinions? Who doesn't agree with this: "We hope the war will come to a swift conclusion with minimum loss of human life and that we can move on to build a better future for the Iraqi people"?
But what if it isn't swift? Should we just quit?
And what is "minimum loss of human life"? 5, 50, 500, 5000? We're in it now - my main concern is with the Allies and the civilians. At this point, I don't give a fig about the Iraqi military: this is war and I want to win as quickly and DECISIVELY as possible, and if that means dead Iraqi soldiers, so be it. If they won't quit, they'll have to be killed.
Then I want peace, just like Lenny. Rock on with your bad self Lenny, I love ya.

Gerald Cosloy of Matador Records used to sign his email with "Peace, Love and Kill Lenny Kravitz", a sentiment I agree with.

Lenny is the best black Jewish rocker who ever lived.

what about Sammy Davis Jr?! ;-)

Sammy was cool but rocked zero rectums.

I think The Zero Rectums would make a good name for a punk band.
As an aside, in "Hard Core Logo", which is coming out soon on DVD, there is a hilarious scene where the band are talking about band names. C'mon, who hasn't spent time making up lists of band names?
Two I've used: Snotty Scottie and the Hankies, The Only True Sons of Lesbian Love.

How about Persistent Fly (my father-in-law's) or Random Acts of Loudness (my son's)?

"The Zero Rectums" makes me think of my absolute favorite disgusting band name:
Colostomy Grab Bag

"Wavy naked people"
Me and my brother came up with that one.
For the channels on cable TV that were scrambled.
Digital TV has rendered wavy naked people obsolete
Really, it's a shame.
I remember, for a while, the commercials for videos and "products" were LESS wavy...how did they do that?

I believe "Zero Rectums Rocked" is the way to go with that one.

I know a 10 year old girl who wrote a song that had far more meaningful lyrics than Lenny pathetic attempt at an anti-war song.
I'm never a fan of war, but now that we are in it... fight smart, fight strong, and come home safe men and women of the US Armed Forces. You have my respect and my prayers.

When the Iraqi people say "Get the Fuck Out" and we don't leave, can we kill them?
