Klipsch Giving Away Limited Edition Audio Components

Klipsch will be awarding upcoming ESPY attendees with limited edition, co-branded Klipsch Image X10i headphones in their ESPYs gift bag.  What, you're not on the invite list for the July 14th event?  Not to worry; Klipsch is also giving some away to some of their biggest fans.

Only 500 of these rare headphones have been made, so scoring a pair will be quite a feat. How will you have a shot at getting your own?  Through a special "Step off the Sidelines" giveaway, of course.

Starting immediately, participants are invited to upload inspired photos of themselves sporting anything from the vast Klipsch catalog—from headphones to home theater—with the most creative entrants taking home the prizes.

The "Step off the Sidelines" giveaway is open to all U.S. residents at least 18 years old. All photos must be uploaded to this site by July 23, 2010.

Each of the five first prize winners will win a pair of the limited edition, co-branded Klipsch Image X10i headphones.  In addition, five second prize winners will land a Klipsch iGroove™ SXT iPod/computer speaker.

The top ten most creative photos will also appear on Klipsch’s Facebook page. Out of those 10 photos, five first prize and five second prize winners will be selected. Don't think about submitting dozens of photos, though; only one image per registered email address is allowed. Winners will be notified on August 2, 2010.

Back in the 50s my buddies and I built high fidelity sound systems, the best of which had Klipsch folded horn speakers (gigantic!) which had the best sound we could produce. In the 70s I switched to a stereo pair of Klipsch Heresy speakers, which still have the best sound of any speakers I have listened to, ever. I know there are many reviewers who say otherwise, and I know that many sound measurements show that there are 'better' speakers, but those old Klipsch speakers remain my favorites. Why? Because I can listen to them all day without ear fatigue. Many speaker systems sound 'realistic' and 'good', but the Klipsch's are the least irritating speakers I have ever heard.

I think it is because of the low 2nd harmonic and intermodulation distortion.
