Kazaa: Over 1 billion served

I just noticed a new benchmark in P2P variety. At 5 PM EST on Sunday, 4-27-2003, some 4,769,944 Kazaa users were at that moment sharing 1,022,941,857 files.

That's over 1 BILLION different files available, the first time I've noticed it in 10 digits. Even counting that a lot of those are duplicates, that's still a huge, beautiful bouquet of goodness in music, video, still images, and more.

Come on in kids, the water's fine!
