Residents of Norway House, Manitoba, approximately 500 kilometers north of Winnipeg, have been flocking to Georgina Henry's house to view a nearly three minute videotape of what appears to be Bigfoot, taken by her son Bobby on the morning of April 16, 2005.
Just after dawn, Bobby Clarke, a ferryman on the Nelson River, sighted what he described as "a big black figure" on the opposite side of the riverbank aprox.250 meters away. Known to never be without his video camera, Bobby was able to film the figure for almost three minutes.
Missy Flett, an outreach worker with the Norway House Community Council, and an admitted cynic, said she was stunned to see the image of the massive, hair covered creature walking upright...
"I was kind of skeptical when I went over," stated Ms. Flett, "But after seeing it, I truly believe it's the real sasquatch [another name for Bigfoot]." ..."It's awesome. . . It's real. It's the real deal." - The Globe and Mail
'"Couple of my friends and cousins have seen it, and some of them, first didn't believe in anything like that,' said Joey Robertson.' When they seen the video, it convinced them."' - cbc.ca
Sharness Henry, Bobby`s sister, claims the videotape is of a massive creature, which stands aprox. 8-10 feet tall, walking along the river`s edge through some bulrushes. Towards the end of the 2 min. 49 sec. video, the figure turns and appears to look directly into the camera. At that point, Bobby seems to drop the camera.
Bobby was quite shaken by the ordeal, and had to take a few days off work following the sighting.
'"It was just massive, standing tall. I'm freaked out,' Clarke said in an interview from the ferry at an uninhabited bush area 40 kilometers (28 miles) from Norway House. He said he's been nervous ever since, especially when he takes the ferry to that side of the river." - Canadaeast.com
Mr.Clarke isn`t the first person reportedly to catch sight of Bigfoot at this location. Hubert Folster, who was also a ferry operator, spotted the creature about a year ago. The creature was walking among the bulrushes which were trapped in the ice. Dark and human-like, the creature was too large to be a human. Although he watched the creature for about 6 minutes, Clarke claims it was too hard to make out any more details in the poor morning light.
"It just wasn't right," claimed Folster, who never really talked about his encounter. "You don't want to mention these things". Unfortunately, Mr. Folster didn`t have a camera at the time.
The family is withholding the videotape for the time being, as they make arrangements for an expert to enhance the video. Offers have already started to come in from media agencies across Canada, and the U.S.
Meanwhile, somewhere on the other side of the river...

Great story. I hope the film has good quality. Does any one know about hair samples taken from Bigfoot sightings, and what DNA tests have shown. I've seen documentaries on Bigfoot and some have shown that the DNA was from an unknown primate. If this is true, then is this not concrete proof that this animal is real? Why wouldn't it be on the news or nature/science magizines?

Because it's not real, there is not a shred of evidence for some undiscovered large primates. The hair samples were found to be from horses, not even from modern primates. The infamous Patterson video has been thoroughly disproven. Bigfoot footprints are fraudulent.
Really, given its history of deceit, exaggerations and utter lack of confirming evidence, no wonder mainstream scientists and science journals pay little attention to cryptozoologists engaged in this type of research.
I await the release of the video to the public, and hope to see if, at last, there would be something credible to be had from this tainted subject.

I've wondered the same thing about hair samples. I've heard that they have been analyzed but the results haven't been trumpeted by the media.
The media hasn't broadcast the tape yet. But, we're all anxiously waiting to see it.
I would encourage interested folks to click on the CBC link in the article, and then, listen to the interview on the right side of the page. You'll need real player. The woman being interviewed tells an interesting story of a bigfoot that was mistaken for a moose that was shot.

I was in Alberta about 20 years ago, when there was a report on the radio that some hunters had found hair, and feces samples in a small cave, where there was apparently a very large nest of sorts. The samples were taken to the university (I can`t remember which one) to be analyzed. When they reported that the samples didn`t belong to any "known" species of animal, I thought this would become HUGE news...That was the first, and last I ever heard of it.
I think scientists risk loosing their respectability if they pursue these kinds of things. Sad really.
This video definitely sounds intriguing!

Well, Danny..you could not be more wrong about everything you wrote in your post!

And where am I wrong? I see that you are a sasquatch enthusiast. I await an actual rebuttal, not hand waving, which it seems is how some lowly cryptozoologists respond to criticism.

Well, Danny, I must say that though I think you're completely wrong, I'm not surprised you said what you did.
Now, I should say first that I hadn't thought about Bigfoot much until the last couple days. After hearing about this video I did some research on the net. I think that it's unlikely that Bigfoot doesn't exist.
The patterson film has not been disproved; quite the contrary, the most knowledgeable students of it think it's real.
Two more points. One is that there are several creatures that were thought to be extinct for hundreds of thousands of years ago, even millions, but have been discovered in the past century. If so then why couldn't Bigfoot be one of them? Secondly, and related to the point just mentioned, if it were true that the descriptions of Bigfoot match the best knowledge we have of an animal thought extinct, then wouldn't you think that there is some chance that Bigfoot is that animal (though of course not in fact extinct)? "Do we have knowledge of such an animal?" you might ask. Yes we do, and its called Gigantopithecus blacki.

The cartoon is really cool.
I will await to see the video before passing judgment. I'd been interested in viewing the feces too!

You can't be serious. Give me a freakin break. I don't even know where to start, but let me just say that a Big sasquatch does not hide and procreate for 100's of years without anyone’s noticing, or leaving tracks.
Imagine the tiny genetic gene pool for the sasquatch species. LOL
In any case, don't do your research on the Internet. Read a science text book, learn the fundamentals of science, and only then will you see how ridiculous the notion of sasquatches living in modern north America really is.
