Dumpster Bust Radio: Podcast #7
This week, DB Radio delves into the murky waters of politics for the first time. What was found, you ask? Big Picture ruminations and squeaky-clean muckraking of the highest order. What in the good hell does that mean, you ask? Not really sure, actually. But tune in to make your own judgments, Mr. Snarky.
Oh: and we have the second part of our interview with Lance Anderson of Verge of the Fringe fame. Super cool guy, super excellent podcaster and storyteller of the highest order – one of the more popular ones out there to boot. Check out all the new verge-y fringe type stuff here.

I’m back in the bowels of my apartment building’s parking garage, it’s late at night, and I have my green tea at the ready. And that means one thing and one thing only: it’s party time.

I take the political situation Big Picture and ask why 57% of the American people now believe the war/reconstruction in Iraq is not worth fighting.
Featured Song #1
“Breakwater” - Intuition
It’s a little like No Doubt, but no doubt you’ll dig it all the more.

Part II of an interview with the storyteller-podcaster extraordinaire, which took place outside a Peet’s Coffee in Pasadena on the most beauteous of days.

listening now, man.
i loved the politics talk. just made for great listening, definately.
and i totally dig the late-night in the car vibe of this and every DB Radio.
I'm at the first song, and yeah, incredibly like No Doubt. I would've assumed it was, if i didn't know better, which i do, thanks to your good self...
second part of the interview's just hittin the airwaves...

interview was GREAT - i will visit this fella's site immediately. jsut a brilliant interview, relaxed, shootin' the shit, two sons a bitches in a cafe someplace waxing cultural. wonderful.
and this second song is fantastic. i prefer it to the first, i believe.

loved it man, loved it. one of the best you've done. just flowed perfect.
congrats, man.

Thanks very much Duke. I think I'm finally settling into a good flow. The show is getting much easier to do for me, which I think is a brilliant sign.
And I'm glad you liked the interview. If/when you make it to LA, I'll be honored to shoot the shit with you, good Duke.
And it would be brilliant if you could check out Lance's show / tell him I sent you.
And for everyone: www.podcastalley.com -- we're some thirsty for votes SOBs up in there!

Good stuff overall Eric. This was my first podcast listen ever, and I'm still warming up to the idea. It's a little annoying to have to sit at my computer and listen. I may have to start burning these suckers so I can listen in the car.
I really dug the interview. Good style, good questions and answers.
Not so much into the politics, but I'm still a little burned out from the election.
I feel the same about Letterman. I miss the days when he'd just throw crap off the roof, and get a guy to cover himself in velcro and stick to the wall.
Are you really broadcasting from your car? How does that work?
It's working pretty well as a low-fi Pump Up the Volume type deal. Though I would say tighten up some of the commentary a little. Its a little rambly which causes me to lose focus and play Freecell. But overall, nicely done.

Thanks very much for the comments/feedback, Mat.
Yeah, it's a continuing process - tightening up the ship and battoning the hatches. I've never really talked about politics on-air before, so that was new.
I'm starting to think that my style is to go Big Picture on some topic or area I'm thinking about -- so I'll see how that rolls for next week.
Great interview coming up, by the way: Cary Tennis, columnist for Salon.com. He writes the Since You Asked... advice column, and I just dig the hell out of the guy. Super interesting, introspective person to chat with as well.
So that'll be on the next two episodes or so.

it may get boring to keep hearing that the latest podcast is the best one...but this is the best podcast so far.
the politics was interesting (gee, nobody's called ya an anti-american yet? shocking!)
i really dug the interview.
that 'yoink' tune was a blast.
NOW you need to interview the Duke.
THAT'S what we're all waiting for.

Thanks very much Mark... and it's not boring to me! It's gratifying to think that the show is getting better and then hear that feedback from others.
I almost put YOINK! first, and now I'm thinking I should have, early in the show. That song is totally in line with my idea of upbeat aggressive music a la the best of Voodoo Glowskulls, Suicide Machines, MM Boss Tones, etc. Great great stuff.
And I'd interview The Duke in a second if it didn't cost $4 billion to call him up in N Ireland. I gotta get on that Skype business or whatever it's called.
Thanks again, Mark!
