Digital Foci Announces the Picture Porter 35 for Summer of '09

Here’s some dandy news for avid photo hounds that can’t wait to share their latest snaps of someone falling on their face: it’s Digital Foci’s Picture Porter 35, a “Digital Photo Storage Viewer” that will surely replace those dusty ol’ photo albums for any and all technology-savvy grandmothers.

Looking something like a slightly-hipper Walkman, the Picture Porter 35 is referred to as “Your Ultimate Digital Camera Companion” (aside from a tripod, that is) by its makers, and I confess I’m inclined to agree.  Not only does the Picture Porter 35 enable you to store, share, or view your photos anywhere, but this handy handheld item also serves as a multimedia player, memory card reader, audio/video recorder, MP3 player (iPod’s be damned!), and even a portable hard drive, something that anyone that knows how to power on a computer has needed at some point in time.

The lightweight Picture Porter 35 (it only weighs about 12oz) features a TFT LCD 3.5" color screen (320 x 240 pixels) with backlight, an integrated 2.5” 5400RPM SATA 160GB hard drive, and a multi-format memory card reader supporting CompactFlash, MultiMedia Card, RS-MMC, SD Card, SDHC card, miniSD Memory Stick, MS PRO, MS Duo, MS PRO Duo, and xD-Picture card.

If you've already purchased Digital Foci's highly-rated Picture Porter Elite, then you may want to consider an upgrade...as the Picture Porter 35 goes a step further than its predecessor, as this version includes a USB 2.0 port and advanced file management features; you can actually move multiple files at once now as well as rename them!  In addition, you also get more playlist features, including a "random" option for slideshows.

Don't worry, the folks at Digital Foci didn't cut out any of the other classic favorites to present you with the aforementioned upgrades.  The Picture Porter 35 includes photo support in JPEG, BMP, GIF, and TIFF formats (with RAW support available); video support in MPEG-1, MPEG-4, and MJPEG; and music support in MP3, WMA, and AAC formats. Transferring pictures from your camera to the Picture Porter 35 is a cinch, with ultra-fast copy speeds of up to 1GB in as little as two minutes.
