Catch the Kid App Puts Historical Twist on New Mexico Travel

Part of: BC App Attack

The Catch the Kid app was ideated by M&C Saatchi to encourage travelers to stop and take a peek at the beauty and adventure New Mexico has to offer. Of course, there's a $10,000 cash prize to be had as well.

The iPhone app, now available on iTunes, allows you to create a posse profile within the app or online if you don't own a smartphone. Of course, being a gunslinging, iPhone toting, geochaching traveler is a heck of a lot more fun than the alternative. But I digress.

And while there are a lot of tourism apps, none take you on such a wild ride as Catch the Kid, which encourages you to explore almost the entire state of New Mexico searching for Billy the Kid's loot as well as uncover clues about the notorious outlaw that will lead to the eventual discovering of his whereabouts. And if you're the first to discover his hideout and present "The Kid" with an arrest warrant there is a $10,000 reward. Summer travel fun mixed in with a bit of cash encouragement seems like fun to me.

And even if you're just passing through, you can still unlock additional New Mexico travel deals and win prizes along the journey using the app to find Billy's loot. This loot is hidden all over New Mexico and is virtually shown to you onscreen so once you get close enough you'll unlock it and can use it to buy vacations, deals or even meals online in the general store section of the app.

The Catch the Kid app seems to be the ultimate mix of travel and adventure and with a $10,000 reward, who wouldn't want to travel to New Mexico?
